STRATEGIC PLANNING


Many music and fine arts programs are in need of a clear path for growth and expansion. A strategic plan helps define a shared vision of the goals and aspirations of the music or fine arts department for a period of 3 to 5 years. The plan will include a vision statement and mission statement, goals, and action plans to achieve those goals.

 

PROCESS


The process will begin with a consultation workshop that will guide teachers and stakeholders through a reflective process of the current status, strengths, and areas of growth of the department. A needs assessment will be completed by the department. 


ACTION PLAN


An action plan with specific goals will be developed through consultation with stakeholders and observations of current practices of the music or fine arts department.


VISION


A vision statement will be developed using the information from the needs assessment. The vision statement will include a purpose (why), vision (what), mission (how), and value statements (beliefs).

 

METRICS


Each of the specific goals created in the action plan will include metrics of who will be responsible, the timeline for completion, and the resources needed to achieve the goals.
