CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT

A comprehensive and sequential curriculum in the arts is essential for the growth of any arts discipline. This consultation service will guide music teachers and leaders in developing a curriculum guide aligned with the National Core Arts Standards and focused on the essential music skills and concepts that will best serve the needs of students in performing, creative, and general music courses.

PACING GUIDE

During the consultation with music and/or arts educators, a vertical alignment of key concepts and skills is created for each grade level and arts discipline. 

ESSENTIAL LEARNING OUTCOMES

Based on the pacing guide, specific essential learning outcomes are developed. ELOs bring focus and consistency to a multi-year arts curriculum.

COMMON ASSESSMENTS

In order to monitor student progress over time, common assessments linked to ELOs will be developed.  Best practices and re-teaching strategies may also be included in this process.
